About The Author: Dave Schwensen is the author of Comedy FAQ's And Answers: How The Stand-Up Biz Really Works, (Allworth Press, NYC), and How To Be A Working Comic: An Insider's Guide To A Career In Stand-Up Comedy, (Back Stage Books, NYC). His insider's knowledge was earned as Talent Coordinator for the television show, A&E's An Evening At The Improv, and the legendary Improv Comedy Clubs in Hollywood and New York City. While in that capacity, he also acted as a comedian consultant for many television and film productions. Included in that list are The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson AND Jay Leno, Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, Comedy Central, MTV, VH-1, HBO, Disney, Paramount, and other major television networks and film studios. He has also made numerous television and radio appearances as a featured guest and comedy expert. In 2005, he took over the host microphone for the Cleveland based radio show, What's So Funny! Produced by Lake Effect Radio, the hour long laugh-fest airs twice each week with Dave having lively conversations, (rather than interviews), with in studio guest comedians and comedy writers. A graduate of Bowling Green State University and veteran of the fast-paced, high-pressured entertainment industry of Hollywood and New York, his message is real, experienced and simple: effective communication skills can increase productivity, relieve stressful situations, increase teamwork and build better professional and personal relationships. This concept is also behind the business courses he designed and instructs at Cleveland State University, (yes - he really is the nutty professor!). Dave has been an entertainment journalist since 1993 with articles published in the United States, Canada and Japan. Tired of making his hometown a vacation spot every year, Dave relocated from Hollywood to Northern Ohio. He currently lives on the South Shore of Lake Erie, (North Coast of Ohio), with his wife, Debutante Deb, sons Chaos Kevin and Dangerous Paul, and a large dog named Snickers who is fond of eating television remote controls.
